Words from Miguel Espinales a Red Cross volunteer of Nicaragua:

Hi, my name is Miguel Espinales, I am 21 years old. I am from Chinandega Nicaragua actually studying a mayor education at the university at Leon of the same country. I work with the Nicaraguan Red Cross as volunteer lifeguard since January 2007. I have participated in more than eight rescues in the beaches of Nicaragua.

This year I had the opportunity to participate in an ISLA course in el Transito Leon, Nicaragua where I got some tools that I can use as lifeguard. My favorite part of this course was to share ideas about work techniques with people from different places in my country and foreign people that lend the same service.

I learned new things that will help to recognize the ocean warnings and how to go ahead these situations. For the future I plan to share with the new lifeguards the knowledge I got, making a mixture with the ideas I got in my training and the new ones from ISLA this with the purpose to always continue improving our techniques.

I want to give special thanks to ISLA members because they share their knowledge about saving techniques with the main goal to continue saving lives in a professional way.

We the Nicaraguan Lifeguards say Thanks ISLA for your time and experience!
