Our new ISLA books were a success for showing off our projects all over the world!This past weekend was the fourth annual Chubascos Bodysurfing Championship in Huntington Beach. The morning started off with a beautiful sunrise and waves coming in at 3-5 feet on the sets. With near perfect conditions and warm summer water nearly all day, the event was a massive success for all who attended!

Our ISLA team was out in full force assisting with a first aid booth, judging, selling t-shirts as well as competing in the contest. In the men’s division we had ISLA lifeguards Matt Henry and Rory Kelly make it all the way to the finals with Matt scoring first place in the finals and in the Grand Championships. We also had ISLA lifeguard Ada Jaspers win first in the women’s division!

Overall we greatly enjoyed meeting so many new people, sharing our mission at ISLA, as well as enjoying the contest and the amazing summer day. We look forward to being back next year. Special thanks to the Chubascos Bodysurfing Association for putting on a spectacular event and all of our volunteers that came out!
